Week Workouts, Boston Fundraiser, & Bestie Visit

I’ve been crazy busy this week, but workout-wise it’s been kind of a weak week.  I’m blaming part of that on the weather.  What up spring?  Storms one day, crazy winds the next, temps in the 80’s one day, then temps in the 30’s another day.  What up?

All I’ve managed to get in this week is one yoga class, one weight sesh, one doggy walk, one run.  And on my run I must’ve stepped wrong because 3.25 miles in my lower calf said, “no mas.”  I was able to make it to four, but sheesh.  Luckily my blogging buddy – fitnessmeetsfrosting.com had sent me some Rocktape for my birthday!  Thanks Amy!

I have the exact same running form as the gal on the box.

I have the exact same running form as the gal on the box.

So now I have it taped up and I’m off to a social run tonight to give it a go.  I’m also going cause one of my elite runner buddies – Logan Sherman – is going to be there as he’s doing a fundraiser for Boston Police who work the marathon course.

He's fast.

You know you’re fast when fitness magazines write articles about you.

If you’re interested in donating, or want more info – here’s the LINK.

Other than that, I had a pretty good visit from one of my besties who was in from North Crackalaka.  Of course, I took her to get some TACOS!

Steps: 1. Open face. 2. Insert taco. 3. Repeat.

She also got to visit the fam and play with the rugrats.

Then we went to a Texas patio bar.

Christie is joining you in a virtual drink.

Which led to this sort of klassy behavior.

Judging from the photos, my mouth is agape alot.

All in all it was a good visit.  Hopefully she’ll be able to come back again soon!

Final patio selfie.

Final patio selfie…because her hair was on fire.

So there you go.

How bout you?  Crazy weather?  Doing anything (running, fundraising, etc.) for Boston?  Who wants to meet up at the patio bar later?

  1. Great pictures!! I hope your calf feels better during your run tonight!! At least you had some tape! The weather has been a bit up and down lately but it’s starting to even out some!

  2. I think I need a patio bar trip!

  3. Patio bar in 10 minutes. Beer me.

  4. A patio bar and some tacos sound great right now!

  5. That patio bar does look so nice right now! I will be interested to hear how the Rock Tape worked. I am a huge fan of tape for injuries. I swear there is a youtube video to tape everything!

    • I’ve tried different KT tape brands, but the RockTape seems to be the hardiest. I have chiro friends who sometimes tape me, but yes, usually I look at Youtube demos. Ha!

  6. Does the tape really help? I see people using that and KT tape and have wondered about it. As always-those tacos look amazing!

    • Yeah, it seems to really help. I’ve used it for lots of different little dings – and even preventing blisters and chaffing. It stays on for days and days. Yes to tacos!!!

  7. I’m actually jealous in regards to the amount tacos you consume – and also that you get to go to patio bars.

But I am not jealous of the bipolar weather you’ve been having. Lol!

Looks like you had a great time!

Yuck that weather does sound crazy. We had snow this week, but it’s supposed to be 70 on Sunday. amazingly the x wind has not been too bad, though. Now I want tacos.

    • Ha, it’s frustrating when it’s so nice one day (especially a weekday) then crappy the next (usually a weekend). Oh well.
If you ever come to Texas, I’ll show you some taco joints!

  9. You stay eating tacos!

  10. I am currently performing the Mr. Miyagi clap for your calf…sending the healing your way!

  11. I’m going to have to learn how to make my own tacos! The weather here isn’t great, quite cold in the mornings and super windy as well, typical spring weather though. At least it hasn’t snowed again.

    • If you have the ingredients, they’re super easy to make! Only limit is your creativity too!
I hope the snow stays away!

  12. Yay!! Glad you get to use the tape. Although wait, that means that I’m excited you’re injured so scratch that. If that’s your running form, maybe that’s why you’re having issues? Just a thought. 😉 I’m doing the Boston Marathon World Run on Monday!

  13. How’d the calf feel? Hopefully better with the tape!
Wacky weather here indeed- it’s been snowing like crazy, and we got so much I actually have to shovel today. I’ll look at it as cross-training 🙂

    • It started hurting towards the end (5kish). Yes, the tape helped!
Oh no! More snow? Shoveling?!?! Yes, it’s definitely cross training!!!

  14. It looks like you guys had a lot of fun. 🙂 I think her visit is a good enough excuse for not working out as much as you may have liked! Although the weather was pretty bad here too so I do not blame you for maybe not wanting to go outside.

    • Yes, we had a blast! Yeah, if I was training for something big, I would be out there regardless, but since I’m not, it’s kind of easy to skip some things. That’ll change soon though!
