I went to my fav social run last night. It was great to see so many familiar faces! Went a little further than a 5k at a decent pace – so much easier to do with other people to help pace you! Towards the end, it started to ache on my lower calf/upper achilles (calfilles?). I don’t think it will be anything major if I don’t over do it until it heals.

I know what you’re thinking, but no, there was absolutely no photoshopping done to add in runners who missed the photo op.
This social run had an ulterior motive – to raise funds for the Boston Police Foundation. You can donate HERE.
It’s meant for them because they are on the Marathon course. As part of this, you’re supposed to grow a “bostache”. I missed that memo, but my friends didn’t.

Fortunately, I always keep a backup bostache on hand. Unfortunately, I also missed the sweatband memo.
Mustachioed friend on the left is my super speedy (last 13.1 was 1:07) buddy Logan Sherman. He’s running Boston on Monday. We’re all wishing him luck! If you’re watching the race in person, online, or on TV. Look for him and cheer!
I have a ways to go before qualifying for Boston. But in the meantime, I’ll be running this virtual version: Boston Marathon World Run Join me if you can!
Anyways, after the social run, we got social!
Good peeps. Good cause. Good times.
How bout you? Any social runs lately? How’s the wooly worm on your upper lip coming in? Any Boston Marathon plans (watching, running, donating, etc. etc.)?

This looks like a really fun time. Love the Bostache!
It was! Ha, I got that mustache keychain from Brooks at an expo a couple years ago. Comes in handy sometimes!
I’m glad to hear your lower calf felt pretty good!! Awesome! 😉 Love the pictures and it sounded like an awesome, awesome time!!
Thanks! I was even gladder! It was a fun time, now that it’s staying light later, I will probably attend these runs more often!
Sounds very fun!!
Totally was!
I stopped and chatted with friends on my run today and Kobi made a new friend (big fluffy dog named Gypsy) on our run as well so it was pretty social. I most definitely plan on watching Boston on Monday!
Great! Glad people are coming out of hibernation up there and getting out and social! I hope to join you in the watching of Boston!
Oh! I love the bostaches! Hot! Haha
Haha, I know, right!?!
🙂
Dang that’s a big running group! It looks awesome. It’s been forever since I’ve been on a social run, I’m hoping I’ll find a good one wherever I move to next.
Yeah, we get a good crowd at these runs. It is pretty awesome! Can’t wait to hear where you settle. Safe travels Lily!
I love the idea of a ‘bostache’! On men, of course 😉
Haha, come on, support the cause!
I need to go on more social runs! I do enjoy my solo runs, a little “me” time is nice sometimes. But anything over a few miles gets a lil lonely! I’ll definitely try to tune in to some of the Boston Marathon coverage, I’ll be on the East Coast so it will actually be in real time for once!
I do also enjoy a mind clearing solo run. Running with others makes it seem easier at times tho. Enjoy the east coast!
My mustache is doing great today, thank you very much! I wish I had more access to the kinds of fun social runs you do!
I had marathon coverage on at work and was bawling when Meb won. I think my coworkers think I’m crazy.
LOL OMG I was totally tearing up too! I was watching at work while putting a poster together and if anyone walked by they probably thought I was just really emotional about recycling (Earth Day poster).
LOL! They probably thought you were like the Native American in that old PSA who cries when he sees litter. I bet they’ll be sure to recycle this year so as to not upset you!
PAHAHA
Haha, glad to hear your ‘stache is as thick and luxurious as ever! Look around, there might be some around that you don’t know about. Here we have them by different running clubs, groups, and stores.
Haha, I bet they’re all like, “Wow, that Salt sure is emotional…but at least she has a great mustache!” Luckily I was alone in the office when he won. I may have gotten emotional too.
Aww man, if only I had known I needed to grow a bostache…it reminds me of college and no-shave-November. Also some guys wouldn’t shave starting at either Dead Week or when they started studying for finals. What an awesome run though!!
Yes, if you had known you could’ve stopped shaving your upper lip for once! 😉 Yeah, there are different charities centered round growing a sweet stache, but I have yet to participate in one. The run was awesome!
Does not shaving my legs count? 😉
Sure, I’ll allow it.
