Quick update on the Chicago Marathon training. The beats by dre goes on. And things may be getting weird…
What had happened was we got a Christmas in in July miracle! A “cool front” came through Texas over the weekend. So instead of being triple digits, we were just in the upper 90’s!!! It made the 16 mile group run somewhat pleasant!
It started at 5:30 am at a WRRC member’s house (thanks John!) for the final Run My Hood run. I had never run in this area before and the route took us on a long hike and bike trail that I really enjoyed. But 16 miles later it was over, and the non-running fun began. Pool Party, hey hey!
Funny how your brain works after waking up at 4 am to run for over two hours. You sometimes do silly things. Meh, oh well. Good times.
And if you know me, you know my love of tacos post-run. Well this week was no different. But this time it was Greek tacos!
As for the rest of the week, the runs have been going very well. I’m very pleased. And this weeks TNSR didn’t even have any dinosaur attacks! But one did join us for the run. We were all very pleased.
And so it goes. And there you go. A quick update for your face’s eyes to look at.
How bout you? Get a break in the weather at all? Do you like Greek tacos? Be honest, is that mankini a good cut/color for me?
More updates to come in a day or so!!!

I thought your Rosy the Riveter outfit was awesome, but this one might just take the cake!
Hahaha, thank you! Good to know!
Love the mankini. You should do all of your races wearing one. PLEASE!!!!!
Thanks!!! Hahaha! I’ll think about it. I wonder if it chafes???
Haaaa you and the mankini! I challenge you to wear one running!
Hahaha, thanks! Why does everyone want me to wear one running? Are you laughing with or at me? 😉
Both! And it’s a good thing!
That mankini is the height of fashion! We’re having a cool front here too, and it’s AWESOME!
Thanks so much! I always try to be trendy with my swimwear. Hope your cold front stuck around longer than ours did!!
I think the colour is good but perhaps a bandeau style would suit you better?
Last week on our holidays we had three marvellous cooler days before the 100 degree days set in. (Not fun with a baby!)
Haha, thanks for the suggestion! I’ll have to try it on!
You got 100 degree temps too??? Yikes! I figured you still had snow on the ground 😉 Keep that baby cool!!!!
Ah, my eyes!
Sorry! I should’ve warned that it’s NSFW! 😉
That green bikini top is definitely your color. You seem oddly comfortable in it 🙂
LOL, thank you! I’ll keep that in mind next time I’m swimsuit shopping! And yeah, I don’t have much shame 😉
I agree. The green top suits you!
I’m glad to know I’ve found my color!! Thanks!!
