Things around here have been crazy whack funky! So bizzy I’m dizzy! But I’ve managed to keep my Chicago Marathon training on point. All it takes is a 4 am alarm…oy!
I’ve been trying to mix up my runs by changing locations frequently. It helps to have the new scenery, of that there is no diggity, no doubt!

Sunrise, I eat you! Unless of course you can melt all those gnats off my neck…Then I only nibble you.
And when you change locales, you also change the cool things you get to see.
Besides mixing up the locales, I’ve also mixed things up by going to various group social runs. That does wonders!
Besides helping my runs go by fast (literally), the other runners also always like to replenish our carbs and swap run stories afterward.

After the run…Kanye and Taylor had to bail. Some of us wore shades to hide our glowing cat eyes…some didn’t.
This is true at the sunrise hour as well.

This morning run was in 98% humidity with a dew point at 74. The staff literally had to mop the floor under our table when we got up to leave!
I feel very lucky to have so many runner friends and so many run groups that I can join up with on any given day. It really does help the running!!
So there’s a quick visual update. Sawwy I’ve been so bad about blogging recently, but like I said, it’s been crazy whack funky around here! Hopefully it will get a bit more chill soon! That would be on fleek! (I hope I’m using all the slang correctly)
How bout you? Mixing up your runs at all? Got any other bovine jokes? Been on fleek lately?

it must be nice to have so many people to run with… it would help getting out some days!
It really does make a big difference. I like to run solo some days, but running with a group gives me accountability…and they usually push me harder!
Ah your town sounds so friendly! 🙂
Ha, well, everyone around here is pretty friendly…unless you bring up politics…It’s still Texas after all 😉
I admire you for getting up so early.
Thank you, I’m getting used to it. Bleh…
I don’t miss my 4am alarm – that’s what I do during the school year! 5am for summers to beat the heat, ha. On fleek. Haaaa. I make fun of my high school kids for that one all the time. I think you are using it right, but every time I ask them to explain it to me and use it in a sentence, it’s always “My eyebrows are on fleek”, leaving me to believe that on fleek is a descriptive term for impeccably groomed eyebrows. Or maybe they were just hinting that I need to get my eyebrows waxed. Either way, your use of the term sounds correct to me 🙂
Haha, well I hope you enjoy “sleeping in” this summer! LOL! Yes, you’re probably right – On Fleek is totes referring to eyebrows. Just go to your waxer (or wherever it is people get their eyebrows done) and tell them you want them to be On Fleek. See how that works out for you. LOLOL!
Haha! My eyebrow waxer is my sister in law (she is a hairdresser) and I think she would slap me across the face for saying that! LOL!!!
Hahahaha! Ok then, save it for a waxing stranger then!
The theme of the race I’m doing on Saturday is “Don’t let the cows out” because it runs through 9 cow pastures and you have to open and close the gates behind you… And if you win the race, you get a large wooden cow carved by a chainsaw *fingers crossed*
Oh man, that’s awesome!!! I’m trying to catch up on blogs, can’t wait to see how you did! Is the cow life-sized? Growing up in Ohio they always had a life sized cow sculpture made out of butter at the state fair. Even as a kid that seemed gross to me.
Your dedication to this training is so on-point – 4 am wake-ups?! That’s one thing I still refuse to do!
Thank you!!!! I’m actually getting used to it. It’s kind of nice to have the city sleeping while I’m out running. What sux is that I don’t drink coffee, so I can be kind of dragging through parts of the days now.
I’m soooo on fleek. I still don’t quite understand what that means. I’m getting old 😉
HAHAHAHA! I know, I keep trying to use all these slang terms, but I’m sure I’m doing it wrong. At least it confuses my fellow old friends 😉
You always have great running group photos! Happy 4th to you!
We try to have fun, thanks!!! I’d say “back at cha”, but you don’t celebrate the 4th, do you? Or is it to Canada what Cinco de Mayo is to the States…one huge excuse to party?
We don’t celebrate the 4th but really, we COULD use it as an excused to party 😉
You totally should! Make that a thing!
