Running with Taylor Swift, A Real Life Monster, & Don’t Ask About My Job!!!

Chicago Marathon training is in full swing! It’s early still, but so far so good. It’s nice to finally have a plan instead of just running random daily miles. I’ve been running a lot with friends and I think I have a pretty solid base heading into the real dillyo.

A highlight of the week was our TNSR celebrity social run…

Josh didn't photoshop anything here. It's all legit.

It’s always good to have other folks around to help push you on the run…and to mess with your otherwise perfect running photo…

Guess they thought I needed two sets of bunny ears.

Another fun group run this past week was with the WRRC and their “Run My Hood” series. This time it was a run around some East Dallas neighborhoods, followed by another fun pool party!

I actually ran 10 miles - the gps was acting up.

There’s something about jumping in a pool after a sweaty humid Texas summer run. I need to get a pool, or more friends with pools, or figure out a way to sneak into my neighbor’s yard.

And I don’t know if you can tell this or not, but whenever a camera makes an appearance, I am instantly drawn to it…even if the subjects didn’t necessarily want me to be in it. Cause in my head, if you want to improve your pics, just add Scott! πŸ˜‰

So the training is going well so far. And other than that, this little monster had a birthday…

Don't let the cute smile fool ya, she can single handedly destroy an entire house.

And at her school, they gave her a father’s day questionnaire. After reading her answers, I feel like she doesn’t know me at all!

If any narks are reading this, please ignore her answer to what my job is.

So things are good, things are good. Oh yeah, and so are TACOS!!!!

I like to eat in front of a mirror to make it look like there's more tacos.

So there ya have it. BOOM! On to more!

How bout you? You’re not a nark, are ya? Who likes mirror eating? Will you invite me to your pool?

  1. LOL, I would love to go to that pool! If I had one, I’d invite ya!

  2. Haha! Your daughter’s responses are adorable! I have a pool so I agree – pools are awesome for post run (or for always, lol). I didn’t see your crew at Grandma’s, but I looked!!!

    • Ha, yeah, ya never know what kids will say! You’re lucky to have a pool! Thanks for looking for my buds at Grandma, they were probably hard to spot all covered up in rain gear. I’m trying to catch up with blogs I hope your race went well!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. I laughed five times reading through this… and then had a giggle fest at the questionnaire..

  4. ya I think I need to make more friends with pools too! Your daughter’s answers are great! My favorite is “My dad laughs when I ..get angry”!!! hahaha!!! No narks here .. THANK GOD

    • Agreed! I don’t even like my neighbors, but I think I need to bring them a pie or something so maybe they’ll invite us to the pool. Haha! If I didn’t laugh when she got angry, I’d probably go insane! Thank you for not being a nark!!!!! πŸ˜‰

haha. hmm wonder what you do for a job ;P your daughter sure is the bright one.!! wonder who she gets it from πŸ™‚
Glad your marathon trainings is starting off right. I am like the queen of running random miles daily. lol

    • Hahaha, I’m sure she thinks my mowing the grass is my job…yeah, sure, that’s it. πŸ˜‰
So far, so good on the training! Gotta love randomness!

  6. Tacos?! I thought broccoli was your favorite food… πŸ˜‰ Where do you find all these fun races! Your blog is like a party every day!

    • Thank you so much! so nice of you to say! I try to keep it fun. And no, I will not eat a broccoli taco! πŸ˜‰

  7. ROTFL! Um, I need some uh, er . . . grass for my backyard.

  8. You could come swim in my pool any time…if I had one haha. Happy happy birthday to your little cutie and I’m so glad your training is going well! Darn it I wish I was running Chicago!

    • Thanks for the invite Salty Salt! Now get digging for that pool! Thanks for the birthday wishes! And I really wish you were coming to Chi-town too. I’m very excited to finally meet Helly, wish it could be all three of us!

  9. I think you need a taco intervention.

  10. Happy Birthday to your little one πŸ™‚ You look like you have the best running ground around! Enjoy the training and post run pool parties πŸ™‚

    • Thanks so much!!! And yes, I think I’ve found some cool peeps to run with. Run, party, repeat – can’t beat that!

  11. Swimming after a hot run is the best. I live right near a lake now, so I’ll have to do that some time this summer.

    • Really? Very cool! The lake we run at doesn’t allow swimming, I don’t believe. I wouldn’t want to jump in anyways as people tend to dump dead bodies in it every so often – which runners end up finding. Just happened again this weekend. Crazy!

      • Gross! Swimming in our lake is very much encouraged, and other than the risk of zebra mussels cutting your feet, it’s clean and safe.

      • Oooh, we’re trying to keep the zebra mussels out of our lakes, but they are creeping in!

  12. “If any narks are reading this, please ignore her answer to what my job is.” Bahahahaha!

  13. Wait, you like broccoli more than tacos?

I’m cracking up about your job. Tsk.

    • Haha, strange, but I’m not sure when she’s ever seen me eat broccoli before. I do like it, but NOWHERE as much as tacos!!! And yeah, can you believe she ratted me out like that?!?! πŸ˜‰
