Lots of Christmas Runs, Stage Shows, Wild Yoga & Randomness Galore

It’s been non-stop gangbusters lately. Let me try and ketchup…

What am I up to? Oh, just making it rain, dear.

Of course, Christmas was upon us, and so the kiddos were amped.

1/3 of these folks had a wet diaper. Can you guess which one?

But the holidays don’t mean my legs get a break. And on Xmas Eve I met up with a big group of local runners for a morning run.

Getting my Zen on before the run.

Christmas morning I went on a solo run. I saw a surprising amount of people at the park. Lots of kids playing with their new toys.

But then it was our kids’ turn to open gifts. With a small celebration in our house. And then another one over with some of the wife’s side of the family…

Well hello

Not sure what was happening here.

Then we had another celebration at my parents’ house…

For my long run this week, I got in a half marathon. It was really really windy.

IMG_2628At the last minute my run bud messaged me and said she’d run with me. So glad she did. It made the miles go by much faster. We didn’t take a pic, but here’s us at last month’s Thanksgiving Day race.

Such a pill...gram.

And then the hits kept comin. Santa was nice enough to bring us tickets to the live version of ‘Once’, which was touring in Dallas. I was pumped!!! I love the movie and the music, and the live show was amazing!

I can't wait for the sequel, which I assume will be called 'Twice'

I wish we could’ve seen it twice.

This story takes place in Ireland. And the set was an Irish pub. And get this – at intermission they let us onto the stage, where you can actually order a beer at the set bar! So cool!

Afterward they lowered an Xmas tree light display in the opera house…

While we were at the show, the grandparents took the kids to the zoo…

The next morning I met up with some more friends for a trail run. We got in 6+ miles, and even mixed in a little yoga…

Not sure if these are actual poses or not. But there's no rules in yoga, right?

But it doesn’t stop there. Next we took the kiddos to see Disney Live…

Pirates vs Princesses. Guess which team I'm on.

Ha, I gotta say that it was drastically different than the ‘Once’ show – a lot less ‘F-bombs’.

Then it was time for another family get together with all the visiting Filipinos…

Can you guess where we went?

Anywhoodle, that night my friends messaged me that they wanted to go on a second run for the day, but this time it was around a fancy neighborhood that is famous for their Christmas lights.

Tree Pose.

Look, it's Santa flying! I know him!

I need to have these green spots checked out.

So there it is, kids. The reason for my blog-cation. It’s been a crazy train time around here. Hopefully things will relax just a bit, but it has been a fun ride!

How bout you? Crazy Holidaze? Gettin your workouts in? Any fun group runs?

I didn’t know there was a touring version of Once! Fun! I saw that show on broadway in NYC and really enjoyed it πŸ™‚

  7. Sounds like an action-packed Christmas! I’m hoping to see Once when the tour stops here in April. I doubt they’ll serve drinks in Utah though.

  8. you and your poses! and you have some seriously cute kiddos.

  9. I really don’t understand why you didn’t blog every day. Looks like you were just having a lot of fun…. JK of course. What a blast! I didn’t run much in December, but when I did, I didn’t run by yard ornaments (will correct next year) and my shadow scared me. In my defense, I hadn’t run in the dark for a while. Looks like you have a fun bunch to run with – awesome! Running with friends is the best. Happy 2015!

    • Ha, I used to, but now I’m trying to blog a few times a week, but have more substance to each post. Yeah, trying to have some fun!
Ha, to be honest, the yard decorations on my solo morning runs did scare me a few times. Funny what your mind does when you’re alone in the dark. Yes, those run friends are pretty crazy. You should hear the conversations we had – very inappropriate. Happy 2015 to you!

  10. Wow! You stayed busy over the holidays! Glad you had fun and got some great pictures! Love the “wild yoga poses”!

  11. You now need a vacation. I am worn out just reading about your seriously busy week. [going to nap]

Aw, I love all the family pictures. You all look so happy πŸ˜€ How many Disney shirts do you own? You sure do have a few! I still haven’t run a Disney race yet, but I’m trying to play my cards right. I think my boyfriend will run for wine if we do the Wine’n’Dine Dash one year!

    • Thanks! and LOL, well at the Dopey Challenge we were given 6 shirts. Plus I’ve run the Disney Marathon like 3 other times. So yes, I have a collection. You should totally run a Disney race – they go all out!!!!!

  15. I’m always in awe of how big your group runs are.

  16. Wow! You sure we’re busy with fun stuff over the holidays. I was excited to read you saw Once. We saw it in London this September and absolutely loved it. Next time we’re in NYC we’re going to get tickets to see it again. Did your show start with the hootenanny too?

    • Yes, it’s hard to keep up with all the blog stuff with so much going on in my life, but I try! Yes, Once was awesome and it did start with a hootenanny. But you had to one up me by saying you saw it in London, didn’t you? And then NYC? Come on!
