Yay, Halloween! I wrote the other day about the costumed social run I went on. Good times. But on the official Halloween, it was time for some trick or treating with the fams and friends. It went something like this:
Here in Texas, we haven’t had Autumn yet, so it was a bit sweaty on Halloween. It’s been in the 90’s still during the days. That all changed on Friday night though when a cold front came through. I woke up early for my usual long run and saw the temps in the mid-30’s!!! No thanks! I went back to bed. It was probably the first run I didn’t go on in 6 months. And call me a halloweenie if you must, but I need time to adjust – I can’t just jump into a 60 degree temp change!
Not to worry, it had warmed back up a little on Sunday, so I went for a 10 miler followed by some tough yoga.
I was also race stalking all my friends over the weekend at the NYC Marathon and locally at the Dallas Running Club Half Marathon. Congrats to all!
In between checking split updates, I also cleaned house. And found this gem in amongst the kids Halloween candy.
Ha, ok then.
How bout you? Did you race this weekend? Did you go trick or treating? What was your costume? Are you ready to get off the rock?

Wow, nice poster? No comment on that.
We went out with the kids dressed as disgruntled parents. The guys carried coolers so we could keep our beverages cold and well, with us as we followed our group of 7 kids who terrorized the neighborhood. It was actually a ton of fun! Now I get to eat the candy when the kids are at school. Bonus.
Haha, thanks! I love your costume, so original! š Good idea about the cooler!!! Enjoy your candy corn!
Then the rabbi says…no, wait, I’m distracted. Great costumes…you have the cutest family!
Hahaha, thank you!
Um that poster….Wow.
Sounds like a fun weekend!
Ha, it was actually a flyer. People are weird.
Good times!
Oh my gosh. That was in their candy? People are weird… but you guys looked cute for Halloween! We have had the cold temps here lately and it’s no fun! I’m also not crazy about the whole night time setting in at dinner time thing again.
Yes, people are very weird!
Thank you! Bummer about your cold temps. I’m with you on the early nights, but I’m loving the early sunrises – I can finally see where I’m running!
Love the costumes. That little cowgirl is too much. I still don’t quite get the whole poster thing. So strange.
Thank you! Ha, it was actually a flier. Not sure how it got mixed in their candy tho!
Aww…your costumes were great! Sadly we didn’t dress up but Ashton was the cat in the hat and it was awesome! He finally understands what Halloween is and he was LOVING it!
It was freezing here in MA this weekend, I couldn’t imagine still having days in the 90’s….we were lucky to break into the 40’s this weekend, which I am SO not ready for. It makes getting out of bed to run so much more difficult!
I would LOVE to know who put that poster in the kid’s candy if that was my neighborhood, that is just nuts!
Thank you!!! Ah yes, I remember the cat in the hat costume. Have you been on the ride in Universal Orlando? It’s wacky and Griffin loved it!
Oh wow, you do have it cold. I don’t blame you for wanting to stay in bed. I just want fall temps, not winter, but fall.
Ha, yeah, people are weird.
Love the costumes! Wow, that handout is something else. Who comes up with that stuff? No races for me over the weekend, just more cold weather running. It’s gonna be a long winter, but they always are.
Thank you! Yes, it is something else. People are weird.
Bummer about your weather. I hope you’re able to keep running though – hopefully it won’t get too snowy!
What cute family pictures!! Love your outfits!! So stylish and cool!! You’re awesome, so have an awesome week!! XOXO
Thank you so much!!! I did have an awesome week, hope you did too!!!!!! XOXO
I can’t believe that poster ended up in your kids’ Halloween candy. Yikes! I ran a half marathon on Sunday morning and it went great š
Ha, yeah, so strange! Oh awesome! Can’t wait to read about your half!!!!
Wow, that’s a delightful little flyer in the candy. Love the costumes!
No doubt! š Thank you!!!
Looks like tons of fun. Nice ten miler.
The wife raced this weekend, New half marathon PR for her. Kids dressed up, no adult costumes this year.
It was fun, thanks!
Yay, congrats to the wife and you! You need to dress up next year!
Can’t believe that was in the kids Halloween candy!! Crazy!
Love your family costumes!! I was going to say the Ninja costumes would be great for Halloween withthe covered face, but then I remembered that you live Texas, not Canada š
Yes, people are weird for sure!
Thank you!!! Ha, yes, you need to dress your little one up as a ninja next year to keep warm! It just made me sweat. š
When I saw that crack picture on Facebook I laughed for like 10 minutes. Then I showed it to my husband and we both laughed for like 10 more minutes. I’m sure that person was meaning to be serious, but I thank them for the comedy. Cute costumes you all have! (Yes ninjas can be cute too.)
Hahaha, I like your sense of humor. Glad you thought it was funny too. Oh I’m sure they have a back story, but I never got to learn it. Thank you! Ninjas are the cutest!
You all looked fab! I was Medusa for Halloween – pics to come soon – and we hosted a rockin Halloween party. Only a few kiddos came to our house and sadly everyone was covered in winter coats.
Ha, thank you! Oooh, I’m just getting caught up, can’t wait to see your Medusa! Oh now, halloween in freezing cold is no good!
