Halloween Social Run

Each Halloween the Thursday Night Social Run club meets for a costume run. We run around a popular dining area and throw candy to people eating on the patios. My friends asked if I would join them as 1970’s runners. I agreed.

I got the pic of the jorts runners from our pal over at Jogging Jeans. Check her out if you get a chance, funny stuff.

Anyway, we had a decent tournout…

Before we ran, we had to warm up. I did some 70’s stretches.

Work it.

After that, it was time for a few last pre pictures.

Snow White looked beautiful. I don’t know why my friend Jules didn’t wear a costume????

Run Forrest, RUUUUUUNNNN!

Got our basket full of candy to hand out. Very few of the candy bars had razor blades in them.

Then it was time to run!!!

We're ghost runners!!!

Some of the candy recipients LOVED it, others not so much. Especially if a tootsie roll knocked over their margarita. Oh well, it’s only once a year.

Afterward it was time for a little post run socializing.

Keepin it klassy.

Sorry kids, out of kandy.

Retro fun.

Fun times. Fun times. Now it’s time to carve pumpkins and go trick-or-treating with the youngins.

How bout you? Doing a Halloween run? What’s your costume this year? Going trick-or-treating?

  1. That ghost pic is pretttyyy sweeeett!! Good costumes everyone! Cheers! I was an escaped hospital patient with a fake butt sticking out of my gown :-O

    • Haha, thank you!!!!!! Ha, I’d like to see your costume!! I was something similar in high school – but my fake butt was sticking out of a grass hula skirt.

  2. This is such a cool idea! You all look fantastic.

  3. Haha, these are awesome! I never have good Halloween ideas. It looks like you had fun

  4. Those costumes are freaking amazing–you all look awesome and it make me laugh so hard! I did my version of a Halloween run this am, but it was no where near as colorful and fun as yours! I don’t have a costume this year, but my son was the cat in the hat, we went trick or treating tonight and it was an absolute blast, he is finally old enough to really “get” it and he was so excited, it was the best thing to see!

Happy Halloween, hope you and the kids had a great time trick or treating!!

    • Ha, thank you!!! I’m really glad you got a chuckle! Glad you had fun trick or treating too! Cat in the hat is a good costume!!! I hope he got lots of good candy!

Happy Halloween to you too! Glad you enjoyed it!

  5. Thanks for the shout out! Love ya right back.
Diggin’ the costume on so many levels – the hair is awesome!

  6. Wow those jorts leave little to the imagination lol.

That looks like a ton of fun!!

  7. What fun!!! I love the 70s stretches and wigs! Ha ha! We had a tame Halloween, but I hope we can go out next year!

  8. Love the costume. Looking good!

  9. You look kind of like Richard Simmons, was that the look you were going for? Sounds like a blast! Sadly I did not dress up for Halloween this year, but I did look like a pretty decent zombie at last weekends zombie run/walk. Next year!!

    • Ha, several people thought that’s who I was dressing as. Oh well. I just wanted to be a 70’s runner. It was last minute though, I need to do better next year! How cool about the zombie run!!!

      • It was the hair that gave you the Richard look! Zombie runs are the best! Love dressing like a zombie.

      • I haven’t been to a zombie run, but they do haven them here. I’ll have to look into that!

  10. Your posts always make me laugh!!! Love the outfits!

  11. I think your wig steals the show!! I would love it if I were at a restaurant and runners offered me candy 🙂
My stagette was 70s themed running. It was so comfortable to go out dressed like that!
Hope the kiddos got lots of good candy to share with you!

    • Haha, thank you! Yeah, some people said we made their night – others not so much.

Ha, very cool about your bachelorette theme! Oh yes, they got tons of candy. So much. I had to hide it cause they were eating it constantly.

  12. You are totally channeling Richard Simmons! So funny. I would be very into free candy, as long as you didn’t knock over my margarita. Then we might have an issue.

    • Haha, you’re not to first person to think I was Richard Simmons. Ha, some people loved the candy, but the ones who we knocked over drinks or food, not so much. I just kept running and figured they’d blame someone behind me! 😉

  13. fun costumes! i stayed in on Halloween and chilled w/ the fam, but i dressed up 2 wks ago w/ the boyfriend — as a dalmatian and a firefighter. i loveeeee dressing up.

    • Thank you, it was a blast! A dalmatian and firefighter is much better than a dalmatian and fire-hydrant 😉 I also love dressing up. Halloween has always been my favorite!

  15. Haha, this is hilarious. LOVE the costumes! That’s it, next year I must do a costume run! I love getting dressed up in costume!

  16. You lost me a jorts… I didn’t know that was a thing. I have a hard enough time getting out to run in comfortable gear, let alone slapping on some jeans.

  17. I love this so much. How did I miss these pics on social media???? Words cannot express.
