First off, thanks to everyone for your kind words about my last post. I’m sure if any of her friends or family ever come across that post that they will appreciate all of your comments as well.
Anyway, it was a decent week of exer-ma-cizing. Texas brought the heat, but I hung in there. I got through all my workouts, but the hottest was at the Thursday Night Social Run. Triple digits. Even hotter heat index. Full on blazing sun. But we still had our fun…
Of course after the run came the social part. It’s always great talking with other runners. I can pick the brains of the more experienced ones, and can share stories with those who are more newish. We talk about races, training, etc. For some reason my non-running friends don’t really care to talk running all the time. Go figure?!?!
This time our run was hosted by a cool Tex-Mex joint in town called Chiladas. And being it was National Tequila Day, there may have been a margarita or more involved. The owner (and runner with our group) snapped a group selfie.

Four points if you can spot me. *Hint***there are chips and salsa in front of me*** Hope that helps.
I’m really looking forward to my next run in the morning. The heat aside, it will be fun. A couple of the groups I run with are merging for some longer miles. The aforementioned TNSR, and also the White Rock Running Co-op. We’re meeting at a very popular breakfast/brunch/post-run joint for some mileage. They have the patio reserved for us. Stay tuned for the results!!!
How bout you? Have a good week exermacizing? Ever get to run with people who you can steal advice from? What’s better than post-run food and fun?

Why can’t running groups around here be as fun as yours? I am impressed by the length of that table you are all seated at. Awesome!
Ha, actually we had to put together about 15 tables so we could all sit ‘together’.
Your posts always make me want to join a fun running group! I found one here in Paris that I’m trying to get up the nerve to join, they go out to eat together after their runs too.
Oooh, you should go! I’d love to hear what kind of food they eat after over there. Steak tar-tar?
There is nothing better than postrun food. Unless beer is not included in the “food” category. Then beer is clearly better. At least in my book 🙂
Haha, nice! That’s actually how this group first attracted all it’s members – they used to give free beer after each run. Some nights we’d have close to 100 folks show up!!
Looks like a fun group to run with! Those BQers must be great motivation.
It’s a great group! Yes, it’s great to pick their brains. And it’s also great motivation when I can hang with them for these shorter runs.
I like that you all go eat together post-run. That’s fun. And getting running advice is fun too!
Yes, it’s a pretty sweet set up! Oh yes, we talk about everything from training to races to equipment, etc. Very helpful!
Hooray for patio reservations! Enjoy!
You know it! I did!
Your running group sounds great! I am in a women’s running group, and it is a rare day when there isn’t champagne or mimosas, or something of the sort after a saturday long run! Last week someone brought margaritas!
Yeah, I’e found some decent groups around here. Ha, yeah, mimosas after long runs are great…so are marga’s or beer or whatever people want to bring!
Awesome run and I bet the post run food is awesome. The group Helly and I run with has a lot of experienced runners that are always willing to answer questions. It is very encouraging to have other runners that are approachable and easy to talk to.
Thank you! Yes, the food was dope indeed! That’s great about y’all’s group. Yes, it’s always great to get their perspective!

I did have a decent week, thank you for asking. But my exermacize is never as fun as yours! One of these days I’m coming for a visit so I can run with your crew!
Ha, you’re welcome! Yes, bring on the visit! We’ll have all the run fun!!!!!
With the big groups you hang with, you guys need to invest in one of those selfie sticks. LOL
Haha, good point! That would come in handy for sure!
